Cleanroom: After hours
Normal IMSE cleanroom operating hours are Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm, except on university holidays. IMSE strongly encourages users to perform their experiments during normal working hours. No IMSE staff are available after-hours. WashU Safety response may be delayed as well.
Submit this form by 3 PM along with the name of your Buddy. Emails sent after 3 PM will be reviewed the next working day. IMSE requires the buddy system during any after-hours work. Buddies must not participate in the experiment except for assistance related to safety. The Buddy must be a trained cleanroom user and familiar with IMSE safety protocols.
All after-hours work (including weekends and holidays) must be reviewed by your PI and approved by IMSE staff. To gain after-hours access to the cleanroom you will need a swipe card issued by a staff member. Cleanroom swipe cards must be returned the next business day, or a $25 "lost card" fee will be charged.
Please be aware that limited assistance is available from WashU EHS and Facilities after-hours. In case of emergency, contact campus police at 935-5555. Your PI must be aware of your after-hours work and may have to come to campus if WUPD deems it necessary. Your PI will be your primary contact for any safety issues and is responsible to follow-up. IMSE staff will not be held responsible for any incident (or accident) that occurs after-hours. Read IMSE Safety Manual for more details.
Next steps:
- Wait for email confirmation from the Fab Manager.
- Borrow white cleanroom access swipe card from IMSE staff.
